Wherry Guestbook

Here are guestbook entries from people who have been on Albion in 2013.

Jayne Andrew : September - 2013

Just returned from a brilliant day on the Albion. Fantastic crew, relaxed, enjoyable . . . Would recommend it to anyone. We'll definitely be booking again next year!

Lin Mutler : August - 2013

This is simply to say a big thank you to Skipper Dave Durrant and Trainee Skipper Kevin Blackwell for a thoroughly enjoyable and very informative day on Saturday 31st August. We all, ages ranging from 5 to 60, had a great time, trying to sail the boat, raising and lowering the sails, learning how to do reef knots plus learning more about the Albion and Wherries in general. Once again please convey our thanks to all concerned who made it such a great day.

Carrie Sweatman : July - 2013

My sister, 12 year old niece and I were all lucky enough to spend the day on Albion last week. What a wonderful experience. I'm already saving up to have another trip next year with my husband.
I recommend that anyone who can take a trip on this boat does so, as it is a unique view of the Broads. I've been boating on this river (Yare) nearly all my life but it felt different and special. I suppose it goes without saying how impressive this beautiful, majestic, historic vessel is! I felt truly privileged to have a whole day on her.
The crew were friendly, considerate and knowledgable and our Skipper Henry is just a great bloke; easy going and approachable. Thanks Henry, top skipper! We'll be back!

Trevor Hipperson : June - 2013

One of these days I'm going to have to say something nasty but yet again I have nothing but praise for an excellent day out aboard Albion. It was what's becoming a typical dull June day but we managed to get plenty of sailing in. Many thanks to Roger, Phil and Dave (not to mention his "squeezebox") for a splendid day out.

Jane Monks : May - 2013

Wednesday 29th May will long be remembered in our family as a very special celebration. Warm thanks to Skipper Roger, Mate Clive and Richard for their expertise and encouragement. We do not blame them for the rain which we clearly brought with us ... and took away again at 5.30...

Lorna Cracknell : May - 2013

Many thanks to Henry Gowman and crew for a magical and memorable day on Albion.

Shelagh Gurney : May - 2013

Trevor and I thoroughly enjoyed our day out on the 8th May on the Wherry Albion. The company was excellent, the way in which we were all greeted and looked after was excellent. The weather was kind to us and only a little bit of rain, which did not spoil anything! Please thank everyone who made our day so so enjoyable.

Cllr Shelagh Gurney nominated Norfolk Wherry Trust as her Charity of the Year for her year in office as Chair of Broadland District Council and chose to spend one of her last days in office on Albion.

Lynda Wilkinson : May - 2013

What a brilliant day, certainly one for the memory bank! We hired the Albion for all the family to celebrate our youngest's 21st birthday and it was simply superb! The crew were very informative, helpful but not obtrusive, it was peaceful, we were able to help if we wanted to which was a good feeling, the children could steer, we all loved it and would certainly recommend The Albion for that very special occasion in our wonderful county. Thank you all so much.

Tim Peel : May - 2013

My parents hired out The Wherry Albion for my sister 21st birthday and we had a 'whale' of a time! There were 12 of us in total, along with 3 crew. The day was fabulous from start to finish and I cannot recommend it enough. We sailed up to the Ferry Inn at Woodbastwick where we took along a picnic lunch, accompanied by a glass of Pimms... (I forgot to mention that we had pancakes on board for breakfast!) The weather held up and all of us had a great day, getting involved with putting up and down the sail and having a steer. The crew were excellent and knowledgeable and the children thought it was 'awesome!'

Joan & Angus Marshall : April - 2013

I just wanted to say a big thank you to you and your crew for a most enjoyable day on board the Albion on Tuesday 7th May. The weather was absolutely perfect and the whole trip including our guided tour around Cockshoot Broad was very interesting. Was there any better way to spend a Tuesday in early May? No, I don't think so. With very best wishes to you all and thank you once again.

Alastair Sayles : April - 2013

We chartered Albion for a day to celebrate my brother's 50th birthday. With hardly any wind and heavy showers forecast the day looked like it might have been a bit of a wash out. However that was not the case at all. We had no rain and a really good wind picked up. We had a good run up to Horning where we turned, lunched and returned. It was a real privilege to be on Albion with her amazing heritage. The group comprised ages from 6 to 83 and all played their part in helping winch up the sail, steer, assist with the dinghy, reef and keep the the skipper and crew fed and watered.

A big thanks to Skipper Dave and Crew Bob and Dale for making us all so welcome and giving us a day to remember.
